General Assembly representatives Sen. Kannan Srinivasan (D-32) and Del. Atoosa Reaser (D-27) also attended the ceremony to thank Tillett for the donation.

“Your investment means a great deal to this community, and I want to sincerely thank you for helping preserve the stories and the traditions that define Loudoun County,” Srinivasan said. “The museum plays such an important role in connecting our community, especially young people, to the agricultural roots that shape this region. Loudoun is growing quickly, but the history is still the heart of who we are.”

Reaser recalled many visits to the museum with her son.

“We would spend play group time here, birthday parties here. We spent a lot of time in the general store pretending to buy things. And I like to think about how much the love of history that was instilled in my son from the experiences that we had here,” she said.

As she has seen changes in eastern Loudoun during her life, Reaser said preservation efforts like the museum’s work are heartwarming.
