As we move into Spring, I am thrilled to be back outdoors at the doors, going to community events, and speaking with residents about the issues that they care about most. Read below to see what we have been up to this week and get important updates regarding our region.
Measles Exposure in Northern Virginia
On March 5, 2025, the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) was notified of a confirmed case of measles at Washington Dulles International Airport. Health officials in Maryland and Virginia are working to identify people who may have been exposed to the highly contagious illness. Anyone who may have been in Dulles Airport’s Terminal A, on transportation to the main terminal, or in the baggage claim area between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on the evening of March 5th, should monitor themselves for symptoms until March 26, and isolate and contact their healthcare provider if symptoms occur.
Measles is a highly contagious illness that can spread easily through the air when an infected person breathes, coughs, or sneezes. Measles is preventable through a safe and effective MMR vaccine. Two doses of the vaccine are given to provide lifetime protection. Virginia has high measles vaccination rates, with approximately 95% of kindergarteners fully vaccinated against measles. However, infants younger than 12 months of age are too young to be vaccinated. These infants, and others who are not vaccinated, are very susceptible to infection if they are exposed to someone with measles.
If you have questions regarding measles or a possible exposure, please call VDH at 804-363-2704 or email them at epi_response@vdh.virginia.gov.
Attention Veterans and Military Personnel
On April 1st, the Department of Defense’s (DOD) new electronic health record system, MHS Genesis, will replace the TOL Patient Portal. To keep a copy of your health records for personal use, download them from the TOL Patient Portal before April 1, 2025. To do so, follow these instructions:
1. Visit www.TRICAREOnline.com.
2. Log in: Sign in using your DS Logon, CAC, or DFAS myPay credentials. If you don’t have a DS Logon, you’ll need to create one by clicking “Need An Account.”
3. Access: On the TOL homepage, click the blue “Health Record” button to view your personal health data.
4. Find data: Select “Download My Data.” You’ll see several data categories.
5. Customize: Choose the person, data types, date range, and format for the records you want to download.
6. Download: You can choose to download your records in a portable document format (.pdf) or as a (.xml) continuity of care document. The CCD format allows you to share your data with family, caregivers, providers, and healthcare systems, or to document data in your preferred personal health record.
Save: After downloading, you can either open the file or save it securely for future use. You can also print your records and store them in a safe place.

Community Conversation in Dulles

Thank you to everyone who came out to learn about this year’s legislative session and the critical issues facing the Commonwealth and Loudoun County! Your input and feedback are what make it possible for me to do my job! I cannot wait to speak with even more of you in the coming months!

Resources for Federal Workers
With the recent layoffs conducted by the Presidential administration, many families in our community are in limbo about where they will find relief or new employment opportunities. My office has put together a resource list for Loudoun County including state and local relief options for those who have been recently laid off. We will work to update this list with additional services as necessary. Click on the button below to view our page on Resources for Federal Workers.

Commending and Memorial Resolutions
One of greatest honors as a Delegate is being able to celebrate residents of HD-27 that have displayed local, state, or national distinction through resolutions. My office is able to put in commending and memorial resolutions during the primary legislative session or a special session. If you know someone or a community organization in the district that you deserve special recognition, please fill out the form below and a member of my team will reach out to speak about the request.
How My Office Can Help
Navigating state agencies can be confusing and difficult at times. As your delegate, I can help you communicate with state agencies such as the Virginia Employment Commission (VEC), Departments of Taxation, Social Services, Transportation, and more! I can also submit inquiries with those agencies on your behalf and help you engage with the state agency you need. There are limits to what I can do, however. For example, I am unable to expedite cases or force state agencies to favor your inquiry, provide legal advice or recommend a specific attorney, intervene with judicial issues, overturn decisions, or be involved with matters involving private businesses.
Whether you want to bring an issue to my attention, need my office’s assistance, or want to invite me to a community event, please reach out! If there is any way I can assist you, please let me know here: https://atoosareaser.com/help/
