The Loudoun County Democratic Committee announced yesterday that Atoosa Reaser has been declared the Democratic nominee in District 27 of the Virginia House of Delegates. Her record of service and message of inclusivity, fairness, and justice resonated with voters across the district, and her commitment to fighting for working families, abortion access, and protecting our environment has earned her widespread support.
“I am honored to officially be the Democratic nominee for the 27th district.” Atoosa said. “In Richmond, I look forward to working with my colleagues to defend access to abortion, protect our environment, pass common sense gun legislation, and ensure every student in Virginia has access to a world class education, no matter their zip code.”
Atoosa will face Republican nominee and former Trump administration official Chris Harnisch in the general election on November 7th. Harnisch’s extreme views and allegiance to Donald Trump are a clear threat to the progress we’ve made in Virginia, and Atoosa is prepared to stand up to him and fight for our values.
Atoosa has been endorsed by leaders and organizations across the Commonwealth, including Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton, Senators Jennifer Boysko, Barbara Favola, and Ghazala Hashmi, Delegates Kathleen Murphy, David Reid, Wendy Gooditis, Irene Shin, Sam Rasoul, and Dan Helmer, the Loudoun Education Association PAC, Baltimore-Washington Laborers Council, IBEW Local 26, and others.
As we move forward in this critical election season, Atoosa remains committed to continuing the hard work of engaging with voters, listening to their concerns, and supporting candidates across the Commonwealth to build a grassroots movement and flip the House of Delegates this November.
